New SacRT Service in North Natomas

SacRT is moving forward with improvements that reduce congestion and lead to economic growth. Almost every bus route has been adjusted to improve frequency, scheduling, and weekend service. SacRT is also raising the standards for safety and cleanliness with system-wide improvements while lowering fares.

We are excited to see an extension of Route 13 to El Centro Road on the west side of North Natomas. Additionally, there will be improved frequency on Route 11 with midday frequency every 45 minutes and peak-hour frequency every 30 minutes. Both routes will have weekend and holiday service.

Check out the new network launching on September 8, 2019.

Bike to Green

Next time you're snagging lunch at Monsoon Burger, punching bags at 9Round, or treating yourself to a Coldstone ice cream, you may notice a new amenity in the parking lot. Jibe at Work, in partnership with Bridge33 Capital and surrounding businesses, transformed one parking stall into eye-catching bike parking.

"This is an ideal spot to stop on a bike ride or a destination for an afternoon out with the family. We are excited to support and house something so positive for the residential and business communities," says Property Manager Christy Drawn.

We encourage all to jump on their bikes, check it out, and enjoy one of the many amazing eateries at Park Place II.

Jibe Gets on Board (The Chamber Board, That Is)

Here at Jibe, we're always looking for new ways to spread the word about services we offer to the Natomas business community. Recently, our program manager Leah Barrett joined the Natomas Chamber of Commerce to do just that. We believe it's a natural and positive way to get involved and become a part of the developing and growing local economy. Here's looking forward to the next Chamber meeting.

Jibe Welcomes New Bike Tech Teacher

Meet Elle Steele, Jibe's new Bike Tech instructor. For Elle, biking is a way of life. She even rode 600 miles with her son once when he was just 10 months old. Today they live car-free and get around mainly by bicycle.

Elle likes to think she doesn't fit anyone's preconceived notion of what a bike mechanic ought to look like. "I'm proud of the work I do as a mechanic," says Elle. "I like to show people that there isn't anything mysterious about fixing and riding bikes. Anyone can do it with a supportive community and instruction."

Bike Tech is a Career & Technical Education (CTE) course at Inderkum High School that teaches students the mechanical fundamentals of bicycle assembly and repair while fostering safe cycling habits, environmental awareness, and healthy living.

2040 General Plan Update

The 2040 General Plan is the City's blueprint for how and where Sacramento will grow over the next 20 years. It contains policies that guide everything from transportation, to the type of homes available, to jobs, entertainment, public safety and much more. In 2018, the City initiated an update to the General Plan to ensure it remains responsive to the challenges of the coming years.

On Tuesday, July 30 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Heron School there will be a community specific workshop for North Natomas. This workshop will engage with community members about the critical issues and opportunities this plan seeks to address.

A New Way to Spare the Air

Sac Region 511 is a one-stop shop for finding great commute options. Go there to sign up and join the Express Riders network. By logging your bus trips, you become eligible to be the lucky passenger who wins the $25 gift card given away on every Spare the Air Day.

The gift cards are redeemable at select businesses in the Sacramento Gateway Shopping Center including Beach Hut Deli, Chang's Thai, Don Quixote's, Vampire Penguin, Michaels, T.J.Maxx and Big 5 Sporting Goods.
