Bikes. Better for All Ages

Recognizing that increased aerobic exercise and joint mobility benefits everyone - regardless of age, Jibe partnered with AARP Sacramento last month to offer a new bicycle program for mature adults aged 50 and older. Better on Bikes wrapped up for 2020 with 26 participants gaining new or refreshed bike riding skills, confidence to hit the road, and acumen for quick response. The online program included scheduled bicycle education presentations and on-demand training sessions with a local fitness instructor. We are pleased to announce that Jibe will offer Better on Bikes in 2021. Stay tuned for details on this program while following our participants' progress. Search #BetteronBikes on social media to see their photos!

Is There A Doc in the House?

Bike Doc is closing shop for 2020 with just one more public event (to be scheduled soon!) in early December. Stay tuned to local announcements or @jibewithus on social media to sign up for this final visit of the year. If you miss out, don't fret because 2021 events are already being scheduled. Local businesses, community groups, and neighborhood associations can jump start planning their own Bike Doc event by contacting us at info@jibe.org.

Students Rise to the Jibe Student Challenge!

Area students vigorously joined the Walktober Jibe Student Challenge last month, partaking in unique challenges throughout the month in order to complete their Walktober passports. From taking walks and bike rides, expressing themselves creatively with essays and artwork, and submitting photos of themselves in their Halloween costumes, there was really something fun for everyone. We thank Write to Lead for partnering with us on a writing competition, and all the students for their active and creative participatory efforts. Can't wait to see you all next year!

No Car Needed, North Natomas!

About 500 North Natomans ditched their cars and dined out in 2020 as part of Jibe's Car Free Saturdays program. On average, diners walked or biked 3.7 miles to twelve local restaurants, which translates to more than 1,800 miles traveled car-free! Big ups to our partners Beach Hut Deli, Bella Bru, BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse, Casa Ramos, Dos Coyotes, Jack's Urban Eats, Koshi Ramen, Mr. Pickle's, Logan's, Pete's Restaurant and Brewhouse, The Pizza Press, and Togo's for collaborating with us! Get ready because Jibe is planning another round of Car Free Saturdays this spring! If you own or manage a restaurant and want to join us, or can help us identify Car Free Saturdays partners, email us at info@jibe.org!

Ridership has its Rewards

Don't forget that Jibe is offering gift cards from local restaurants to all riders currently on board the Jibe Express! With protective measures in place, reconfigured routes, and now local rewards, there's never been a better time to ride Jibe Express.

See our flier on Jibe Express for details!
