Kill Your Commute... With Coffee, Treats and a Trek

Are you eager to ride and hungry for food? Don’t fear. We’ve got you covered in both departments. In honor of May is Bike Month, the NNTMA is hosting a free breakfast on Bike to Work Day, Thursday, May 17th. Eager and hungry cyclists should show up at the East Entrance of Power Balance Pavilion where we will be hosting a well-rounded “Breakfast of Champions” including coffee, juice, sweet treats and hot eats to give riders the energy to conquer the rest of their commute. Plus, get a complimentary sunrise with your grub!

May is Bike Month is a regional campaign that challenges Sacramento-area residents to ride a total of 1 million miles during the month. Last year, the region biked 1.3 million. Don’t get left out of the free-wheeling fun!

When: Thursday, May 17th
Time: 5 a.m. to  9 a.m.
Where: East Entrance of Power Balance Pavilion (Truxel Road)

Last Chance to Boost Your Bike Power

So you think you know about biking? Go test your knowledge and meet fellow cycling enthusiasts at our free Bike Clinic where expert Chris Ewers keeps the audience on its toes (sometimes literally) with info that’s relevant and engaging. Ewers de-rusts our road skills with rule reminders, fresh tips for smooth cycling and a little humor to keep us all entertained. He is certified by the American League of Bicyclists and is an excellent resource about all things bike-based. After the course, there is also an optional flat repair demonstration. Did we mention it’s free?

When: Tuesday, May 8th
Time: 6 to 7: 30 p.m.
Where: North Natomas Library

May is Bike (And Social Media!) Month

Get your social media in high gear with us as we socialize up a storm on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for May is Bike Month. First, we are planning an Instagram photo-off in the first week of May and throughout the month. Just upload pics of the Flyer, Bike Doc, etc. to our facebook page for a chance to win coveted MiBM shirts and socks.

Next on deck is a healthy game of Tug of War (May 7 – 11) where we post two pics side by side and you pick one of them to “like.” Then, if you’re on the winning side, you automatically get entered into a raffle for MiBM T-shirts, socks and the timeless, essential NNTMA commuter mug. Go orange or go home!

Are you known for your one liners? Between May 14 and 18 get your daily dose in our Capture the Caption Contest where we post a pic and you come up with a quirky or clever caption for a chance at prizes.

Throughout the month, we will post trivia questions of all types including some about this (and past) NNTMA newsletters. Get your game face on and go win some prizes!
