Summer Games – Shuttle Style

While official Olympic games begin with the passing of a torch, our Summer Games Shuttle Style will start with the emailing of a password. Beginning the week of July 16th, we will post a secret word on each Flyer shuttle just one day per week for three weeks. You must ride the shuttle on that day to discover the word. Then, email it to info@nntma.org to get entered into weekly and grand prize drawings where one lucky rider will win dinner for 10 at BJ’s Restaurant. But sshhh! Keeping the password under wraps means increasing your odds of winning! Stay tuned for more info.

Flyer Friendly Fact #23

Everyone appreciates a gentleman and a scholar… so when you leave the newspaper (in tact!) on the shuttle for the next avid reader, you spread goodwill and a good read!

Time For Your Feedback

The new shuttle service has been in operation since March and we want to hear from you via our survey coming your way in late July. Please stay tuned for more details on our website, facebook page, and on the shuttles.

Holiday Reminder

This is a friendly reminder that the Natomas Flyer shuttle will not be operating on Wednesday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day. If you need to commute downtown, please coordinate a carpool with a neighbor or friend. Please make a note that our offices will also be closed on that day.

Green Line Takes its First Step

Hundreds of light rail riders and enthusiasts, as well as VIP city officials including Congresswoman Doris Matsui and City Councilmember Angelique Ashby, attended the grand opening celebration of the Green Line station on Richards Blvd. on June 15th. The station marks the first destination on a planned 13-mile route that is slated to travel through North Natomas and land at the airport by 2035 or sooner if federal funds become available. The NNTMA, an advocate of the Green Line project for the past 10 years, participated at the event and will continue to support efforts to move the project forward.

A Million Miles & More in May

We are proud to announce that North Natomas businesses, residents and schools contributed 74,590 to the grand total of 1.7 million miles cycled in May is Bike Month.  Way to own the road! Our business partners this year included IADT, Le Cordon Bleu and Raley’s Distribution Center. Thank you for your participation!

We also extend a big congrats to Natomas Unified School District who earned a Bronze award in the category of Bike-Friendly Business and to Regency Park Elementary School who won the North Natomas school challenge for biking the most miles in May. Finally, a huge round of applause to all nine of the North Natomas elementary and middle schools that participated this year in May is Bike Month: they all placed within the top 16 schools for the region this year.

Flyer Friendly Fact #24

The huddle has historically been a time of crucial news dissemination and strategic planning. While waiting for the shuttle, don’t observe from afar as your neighbors share umbrellas and talk about who’s hosting the next big shindig. Walk over and get in the game; you’ll be taking time off the commute clock.

For Flyer Friendly Fact suggestions, shoot us an email at info@nntma.org. Or… you can call us directly at 419-9955. If we pick yours, we’ll give you a shout-out and a little thank you gift.
