Teaming Up to Build a Better Future On Monday, January 20, 2014, Martin Luther King Jr. Day and the National Day of Service, community volunteers will join forces in North Natomas to help 50 kids transform bike parts into 50 ready-to-ride bicycles. Bike Sponsor: Donations are a vital aspect of 50 Bikes for 50 Kids and without bike sponsors, we wouldn’t have an event. Volunteer: Volunteers can support us in many ways, from set-up and clean-up, to bike building and photography; there are opportunities available for anyone who wishes to contribute hours on this National Day of Service. Register to volunteer or sponsor at our website, or email abbey@nntma.org. |

Hello to Ryan! Please welcome Ryan Sharpe, who was hired to our Program Coordinator position. Ryan comes to us with a unique record of bike advocacy, organization, and maintenance experience, courtesy of long stints as a volunteer and Board member with the Sacramento Bicycle Kitchen and Sacramento Area Bicycle Advocates. He is looking forward to spearheading the Bike Doc and Flyer Shuttle programs this year, in addition to filling in at our front desk. Be sure to say hello if you see him riding the Flyer, or visit our office to buy tickets! |

Rising to the Challenge: Walktober! During the month of October, six North Natomas schools celebrated the fun and excitement of walking and biking to school by participating in Walktober. Students at Regency Park Elementary, Westlake Charter, Natomas Park Elementary, Heron School, H. Allen Hight Elementary, and Witter Ranch Elementary recorded their trips to and from school each day and submitted tracking sheets at the end of the month. We are proud to announce that 17,204 trips were logged by students during the month of October! |

Shuttles on Holiday While the holiday season keeps many of us busy, it is also the time of year where the Flyer shuttle takes a break. This year, the shuttle will be taking the following holidays off:
If your commute or errands will take you downtown on the holidays, please plan ahead to carpool. If you need to buy tickets or just want to visit our friendly staff, our office will be closed on Tuesday, December 24 in addition to the holidays listed above. Plan your trips ahead, and enjoy the holidays! |

Ticket Pricing and Expiration This coming year, Flyer Shuttle ticket pricing will stay right where it has been for the last couple of years: $1.50 per ride. New tickets are already being issued with an expiration date in 2014, but your old tickets will still be good throughout the coming year -- no need to trade them in or throw them out! |
