Striving For Better Service Hang in there, we hear you! There has been a lot of feedback regarding the Flyer Shuttle service in the past weeks, and we want to let you know we hear you and we are working on how to improve the service. We are considering and researching options regarding shuttle capacity, route changes, late trips, a Park & Ride stop, construction impacts, driver training, and accurate timing. These are not easy, quick changes to make, they take time to implement in the best way possible. We appreciate your patience as we investigate ways to make this service even better. As always, we love to hear from our riders. If you ever have an idea or thought, please don't hesitate to let us know!

Route Changes Eastside PM Route Change: Due to excessive traffic caused by the "Across the Top" project on 1-80, the Eastside PM route will temporarily change. Instead of exiting 1-5 via the I-80 Truxel Rd Exit, the shuttle will exit via the Arena Blvd Exit and begin the route at Truxel & Arena. This will only effect the Eastside PM route. Note, this will result in the deletion of the NB Truxel & New Marketplace stop. The SB Truxel & New Marketplace stop will remain unaltered. We understand the loss of a stop may be inconvenient to some riders, however, avoiding the Truxel Rd exit should result in a more reliable and quicker commute for everyone. Downtown Loop Route Change: There has been some feedback from riders requesting we adjust the downtown loop to avoid L Street due to arena construction. After some analysis of alternate routes we have decided NOT to change the current route. |

We Asked, and Boy Did North Natomas Answer! Adults from all around North Natomas heard the cry and answered with an astounding "YES! We do know inspiring youth!" We asked for nominations of local youth that inspire those around them, based on six character traits: trustworthiness, respect, fairness, caring, citizenship, and responsibility. There are some amazing and powerful local kids who are truly making a difference in this community. We would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone that nominated, or encouraged others to nominate, a youth for 50 Bikes for 50 Kids. Meet this year's bike recipients! |

Students' Foot Powered Movement is Going Strong At six North Natomas schools, over 1150 students are participating in the Walk to School program each week. This is equal to 24% of the student enrollment using their feet to commute to school on program days. Each school organizes Walking School Bus groups, where students and parents gather and walk to school as a group. We are proud to say there are now active Walking School Buses in all six Walk to School program campuses. We want to congratulate the families that are making the effort to “Take the Cool Way to School” and encourage those who have not yet joined the movement to step into the new year on the right foot this January. Walk to School Days by school:
Regency Park Elementary – Two Feet Tuesdays
Natomas Park Elementary – Walking Wednesdays
H. Allen Hight Elementary – Walking Wednesdays
Westlake Charter School – Walking Wednesdays & Fridays
Heron School – Footloose Fridays
Witter Ranch Elementary – Footloose Fridays For more information about the program or volunteer opportunities call 419-9955 or visit our website. |
