Bike Valet at the Natomas Farmers Market Kick-Off

Be a 'roll model' for your family, neighbors, and friends and get yourself to the Natomas Farmer’s Market Kick-Off this Friday via bike! In addition to seasonal, organic and local produce, the market will also showcase live music, face painting, a beer garden, and, of course, FREE bike valet!

Don’t have a bike basket to carry home nature’s candy? Mayor Pro Tem Angelique Ashby will have a limited edition tote bag available to help bring home your fresh haul. Or, stop by the Natomas Bike Shop to discuss panniers, messenger bags, and racks with your local, friendly bike mechanics.

Fall in Love with the Ride

Don’t Be a Bike Theft Statistic

While bike theft is an unfortunate reality here in the Sacramento region, you can arm yourself with knowledge and practices that reduce your risk. For starters, make sure your bike is locked properly and registered.

Take safety to the next level and adhere to these tips as well:

  • Never leave your bike in or on your car.
  • Make thieves second guess themselves: apply a ‘Is this a Bait Bike?’ sticker to your bike. They are available in our office.
  • Take the time to read the tips and best practices from Sacramento Area Bicycle Advocates.
  • Consider locking your bikes even when parked inside your garage.
  • Use a heavy duty chain or u-lock.

Fire Up Your Feet

Back to school means firing up the ol’ synapses again after a hearty summer break, and one of the sure fire ways to do that is to fire up your feet and walk, bike or scoot to school. Why not get healthy, hang out with friends and family, help the air quality, and activate your brain -- all before the first bell rings!?

If you’re a student at H. Allen Hight Elementary, Heron School, Natomas Park Elementary, Westlake Charter School, Witter Ranch Elementary, or Regency Park Elementary - ditch the car and join the movement!
