Wonder Cora

In the beginning, there was traffic congestion, but deep beneath the noxious gases heroes emerged. By riding the Flyer Shuttle, local heroes combat evil smog and protect our air. Commuting downtown on the Flyer saves money and punches out traffic.

We are excited to introduce another local superhero!

Cora enjoys riding the Flyer Shuttle three days a week to her job downtown with the Department of Social Services. She knows she is helping the environment when she rides the Flyer because it takes her car off the road and out of downtown traffic. Emergency Ride Home answers her biggest concern - getting stuck downtown. ^aEURoeIf I have an emergency and need to leave work, I can get a free taxi ride home!^aEUR

Put Your Best Foot Forward

Big changes this school year! All students that walk, bike, scoot or skate to school will receive a free Trip Scanner Card. Students can use this card to earn prizes, special recognition, and participate in challenges throughout the year. Parents can use this card to receive text and email alerts when their child gets their card scanned on campus - every day! That^aEURTMs right, volunteers will be on campus every day to greet students as they walk, bike, skate, and scoot to school.

A lifetime of being active begins on the way to school. Studies have shown that students who walk and bike to school are more alert in class, have higher physical activity levels throughout the day and reduced stress levels.

The Walk to School program is offered at eight area schools:

Visit NNTMA.org to find out more about school specific walking groups, campaigns, and events; or to volunteer your time.

Bike Doc Is Coming To An Event Near You

Fall makes for wonderful riding weather. Get your bike ready to hit the trail with a quick visit to the Bike Doc.

Bike Doc - a mobile bike shop on wheels - will be available to fix bikes for free at a variety of events throughout the next few months. Bring your bike (only one bike per person), and let a professional mechanic fix it up. Experts will be on hand to adjust, inflate, change, tune-up and grease. Bikes are received on a first come, first served basis, and bike repair will be limited to event times. All major repairs will be referred to a bike shop.

Connect Card On The Flyer

As much as we love to see our riders' happy faces in our office, there's now an option to skip the trip to purchase tickets.

The Flyer Shuttle is ready to accept the Connect Card as fare. Connect Card is the Sacramento region's new transit smart card fare collection system. It provides a convenient and secure way to pay your fare.

What to know about using Connect Card on the Flyer:

  • Get a Connect Card by creating an account online, your card will then be mailed to you. You may also visit a Customer Service Center.
  • You do not have to use the Connect Card. This is simply an easier and more convenient option for riders to manage their Flyer fare.
  • Flyer tickets cannot be uploaded to the Connect Card. Use all your Flyer tickets before switching to the Connect Card.
  • Transit checks can be loaded onto the Connect Card at one of the participating Customer Service Centers. The NNTMA is currently NOT a Customer Service Center, but will be in the future.
  • Another question? We've got an answer!

No Flyer Shuttle Service For Labor Day

The Flyer Shuttle will NOT be operating on Monday, September 4th, in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Should you need to commute downtown, the NNTMA encourages you to share the ride with a neighbor or friend.
